1. I don't stop at interest in psychology
Although my decision to study abroad was arranged by a phone call during my high school years, when I look back now after receiving my undergraduate admission, I am grateful for the time I spent in high school in the UK, which allowed me to try different courses and seriously discover and understand my interests.
I initially chose to go to the UK to study in high school because the cultural background and living atmosphere in the US were not very suitable for me. Although the educational style in the UK is a bit more serious, it is very in line with my mindset as a science student.
Although all the courses I took in high school were related to science, I chose psychology, which leans more towards the humanities and social sciences, in college, mainly due to my yearning for criminal psychology.
Because I have always been deeply interested in crime-themed TV dramas and books since childhood, and criminal psychology can bring people infinitely close to the truth, I think it's really cool ~ (It feels so pretentious
Later, with the enrichment of relevant knowledge and the increase of life experience, I gradually discovered the significance of psychology, so I began to seriously consider it as a major.
Then, under the recommendation of Explore, I followed a psychology professor from Yale University to conduct research on related topics, which further strengthened my determination to study psychology in the future.
Due to personal preferences, personality and other reasons, although I may not be engaged in the work related to psychology that people have in mind in the future, such as: police station, running a clinic, detective, etc... However, I will still take psychology as my pursuit goal and explore a career development path that suits me.
2. An orderly application process
When I first applied for a British high school, I got to know Yisi Boluo through a friend's recommendation. At that time, I also visited other companies, but most of the agencies gave me the impression of lacking human touch. I hoped to maintain long-term and close communication with the agencies, so I could imagine how painful it would be to cooperate with them in the future.
Unlike other institutions, when I first came into contact with Yisi Boluo, I got along very well with the consultant teachers. They would also help me handle the trivial matters in my life, making me feel that they were meticulous. Such an agency is definitely reassuring when handling affairs!
What reassures me is that although I was just in high school at that time, the teachers at Explore had already started to plan my college application for me. The route they planned was very forward-looking.
So I suggest that students in similar situations to mine, when choosing an agency, try to one with long-term cooperation rather than a short-term one. Otherwise, it will be very difficult to form a comrade-in-arms relationship with the application team.
When choosing a school, the teachers gave me many options. Not only was the range very wide, but the quality of the schools was also very good.
Fortunately, my teachers have been urging me to take the IELTS. Thanks to their supervision, otherwise it would have been difficult for me to take it again during the epidemic. It can be seen that Explore always plans ahead and works in an orderly manner.
The document teacher basically responds to every request, and the speed at which they reply makes me wonder if they don't even need to rest.
The major challenge I encountered during the application process was the application essay. Because the essay teacher would first ask me to write it myself and then send it to him for continuous enrichment and improvement. There was no need to make up the word count and it was required to be concise. It was really too difficult for me.
However, only in this way can the documents I participate in be more distinctive. Seeing the documents that have been polished and formed by the teacher many times, thinking that I was also involved, the sense of achievement immediately fills me up!
Throughout the entire application process, the teachers were very strict in their supervision and strictly controlled the progress. There was no need to rush to meet deadlines at all. The experience of collaborating with Explore was simply amazing.
3. Five successful kills, the finale
The college entrance examination results in the UK might be a major obstacle for me. Fortunately, I studied hard throughout the three years of high school and my grades were quite good, meeting the application requirements. Although I have a wide range of extracurricular interests, it seems that this won't be of much help for my application to British universities. After all, the UK is very academic, right
My inexplicable confidence, coupled with the encouragement from my teachers, made me feel like I could kill all five while waiting for the offer. Hahaha (overconfident) Durham's offer arrived just three days after I submitted my application, the fastest ever. It seems that they truly love me. As it was an offer, I remember being extremely excited at that time.
Later, as I had hoped, UCL, KCL, the University of Manchester, and the University of Birmingham all sent me offers one after another. This outcome finally did not disappoint the efforts of me and my teachers! Without much hesitation, I chose UCL, which is the academic field I have always dreamed of.
Looking back on my application experience, I think it's essential to start preparing for studying abroad early and find a direction that you like. Moreover, many application materials need to be polished repeatedly, so the more time you leave yourself, the better.
During this application process, don't be too nervous, but also don't be overly relaxed. Some difficulties are unavoidable, so it's better to try to enjoy the process.
Blood and Tears Experience reminds everyone! If you want to apply for a dormitory, you should do it early. Apply as soon as you get the offer! If you are a student from a British high school, try to start applying for a dormitory as early as May. If you are late, you won't be able to apply. like me...
I'm glad to have started this connection with Explore and I'm also grateful to the teachers for helping me fulfill my dream. Wish everyone a successful application season ahead and a fulfilling and wonderful time

Yan is an independent girl with her own ideas. Compared with the exam-oriented education in domestic high schools, she is particularly fond of British culture. Therefore, with the help of Explore, she successfully applied to a British high school. Student Yan studied diligently and earnestly in the British high school. While maintaining his academic performance, he also carried out various activities in an orderly manner. Eventually, he chose us to apply for the undergraduate psychology program in the UK.
Student Yan wanted to try to get involved in the psychology major during her high school years, so we followed up with a research topic on psychology from a psychology professor at Yale University. In this research project, Yan has become even more determined to study psychology in the future and has also gained a lot of knowledge frameworks related to psychology as well as methods for conducting research projects. It is precisely this kind of research on topics that has honed my English writing skills, and I eventually achieved a score of 7.
In addition, we also arranged a scientific expedition to Africa to protect black rhinos for Yan. This experience also gave the student an unforgettable experience. Throughout the entire application process, Yan cooperated actively. Our team also paid close attention to the student's psychological fluctuations in study and life, providing psychological counseling and encouragement at appropriate times. Eventually, Yan's study and activities were maintained. The estimated A-level grades have reached 4 As.
The final student was admitted to the undergraduate psychology programs at UCL, KCL, the University of Manchester and Durham University in the UK.
