After the college entrance examination, I went to the United States in a laid-back manner
Undergraduate study experience in the United States

Since I was a child, I have never been a traditional "good student" who loves learning. Therefore, my scores after the college entrance examination were not very satisfactory, and I naturally had no chance of getting into a prestigious domestic university. As American universities enjoy high recognition and popularity worldwide, on the advice of my family, I decided to go to the United States to study at a university.
Due to the rather hasty preparations at that time, the United States only accepted admissions from Auburn University and Arizona State University. The reason why I finally chose Auburn University is also very simple and straightforward - because I personally love fitness, and I also heard that Auburn's football team is very strong and it has some of the best gyms in the United States. After hearing about it, I was very excited, so I chose to go to Auburn.

If you are a fitness enthusiast, I highly recommend Auburn University. The gym experience at Auburn University is truly excellent. It has complete facilities and top-notch equipment. There are staff members disinfecting every day. Even if you get injured during exercise, someone will come to help you disinfect and bandage it immediately. Once I scraped my leg a little. The staff insisted on disinfecting and bandaging it for me before letting me exercise. Ha ha.
Looking back now, the years I spent studying at Oben are all very wonderful memories. The environment of Oben Village is very beautiful, and the infrastructure such as supermarkets and restaurants is also very complete. The people around me are very friendly, and the atmosphere at the university is also great. Everyone is willing to help each other. Besides, the study pressure is not very high, so overall it's still quite leisurely. I have time to do many things I want to do.
But there are indeed some downsides. It feels like the summer is too hot, hahaha. Also, if you like life in a big city, Auburn won't be able to satisfy you.
Be more adapted to the American environment
The reasons for continuing to pursue a postgraduate degree

I decided to stay in the United States for my postgraduate studies mainly because if I returned to work after graduation, the daily routine wouldn't be very interesting. I might not be able to adapt to the living and working environment, and the salary would be low. So I thought it was better to challenge myself and improve myself in the United States and gain more experience.
Since I graduated from high school, I have been rather confused and had no idea what to study. Although I really like sports, I have no relevant background and thus can't get into good schools.
Then I thought that most students apply for finance, thinking that finance deals with money and they will know how to earn more money in the future. So I chose it without much thought. So when applying for a postgraduate program, I also chose finance for further studies. Indeed, in this case, the school I applied to felt better.

Since I am also considering staying in the United States to continue working in the future, I currently want to keep studying hard during my postgraduate studies. It is suggested that after graduation, I can work in the United States for a period of time to experience the social environment and cultural characteristics of other countries, compare them with those in China, and then decide on more long-term matters in the future.
Now I have finally decided to pursue a master's degree at Washington University in St. Louis because my goal is to be among the top 30 in the United States. I originally felt that the hope was slim, but getting an offer from WUSTL can be said to have come true. Whether it's returning to China or seeking employment in the United States, after comparing several factors comprehensively, it seems that Washington University is a better choice.

The application process for studying abroad

I received offers from Miami, Rochester and Washington University in St. Louis. I was very satisfied with this admission result and even overjoyed. At that moment, my mood was so happy that it took off on the spot.
For the application, getting this result is inseparable from the help of the teachers in school selection and application essays. In addition, my personal background in American undergraduate studies, some work experience, and my consistent interest in extracurricular activities also add points. At first, it was also the parents' suggestion that Yisibole was very good, so I thought of giving it a try.
Looking back on the entire application process, I personally didn't encounter any major challenges. I always kept a relatively calm mind. For me, deciding to pursue a postgraduate degree actually required a great deal of determination.
Perhaps because of my low GPA, my expectations were not very high at the beginning. I felt that getting into school would be enough. But now it seems that the teachers have had a significant influence on the outcome of my application. Because I have also approached other agencies, they all said that with my GPA, it's unlikely for me to get into the top 30 in the US, but it would be great if I were in the top 50.
Whether it was school selection or application essays, the teachers at Yisi Boluo all took great care in helping me complete the preparations. During this period, the teachers also carefully sorted out a lot of relevant application documents and sent them to me for me to understand.
Especially for English interviews, I had never participated in them before. The teacher prepared some questions that the school might ask for me and conducted a mock interview for me. Then I memorized some answers based on the simulated responses. But I feel that the most important thing is not to be nervous and confident, just like chatting.
If you are too nervous during an interview, fearing that you might say something wrong and be rejected, you are more likely to make mistakes. Just do your best in what you should do and leave the rest to fate. Nervousness is a useless emotion, while confidence can have unexpected effects.
I am extremely grateful to the teachers of Yisi Boluo and I am very satisfied with them. My experience is a perfect score. It's not just because the teachers are all very patient. Whether it's the details of the application documents, the interview, or the later visa preparation, they all carefully help provide materials. I can say that I just entered the school lying down.
I think many students who can apply to study abroad are really great. I'd like to give a piece of advice, which might be that sometimes don't expect too much. Maybe the result will be unexpected? Just do well in the present.
Then, thank you again, teachers!

In fact, for Cao's application, a major difficulty lies in the fact that there are some disadvantages in GPA. However, Cao was very cooperative with the school selection and the preparation of the application documents. Throughout the entire application process, he made a lot of efforts following the teachers' suggestions. Therefore, the result was very satisfactory to both of us.
Just as Cao said, in fact, the students who can apply for studying abroad are all very excellent. There is no such thing as being unable to apply to good schools just because of a low GPA.
Just choosing which school to apply to and which program to choose all have strategies to follow. What kind of students the school wants to recruit, the state the applicant needs to present, and what kind of content the application documents hope to see, all these have their own considerations.
So when we assist students in their applications, we will also tailor exclusive application plans for each applicant based on their different circumstances. Wish all the students could do well in the present like Cao and get their ideal admission
Here's Cao's DY. Students who like fitness are welcome to communicate with him!
