Tutoring Review
Student Qiu is studying hotel management at a non-first-class finance and economics university in Tianjin. At first, the student consulted an agency in Tianjin on his own. However, due to his low GPA and the impact of the epidemic, the plans provided by the agency were rather conservative and had a significant gap from the university he expected. Therefore, he has not yet decided on the matter of studying abroad. During the winter vacation, upon the suggestion of the student's parents and friends, the family came to Yisibole. After a comprehensive understanding of the student's choice of studying abroad for a postgraduate degree, through in-depth communication with the student and the parents, the parents hoped that their child could have access to education and ensure safety, while the student himself hoped to go to a school with a higher ranking. Taking into account the wishes of both parents and the student themselves, and considering the characteristics of the Sino-US joint teaching program and the high recognition of the FIU hotel Management major in the United States, we have helped the student match the hotel management and tourism management characteristic courses in Macau and Hong Kong, as well as the British foundation courses and related majors in the Group of Eight universities in Australia.
The student decided to apply for studying abroad in December of the application year. The software and hardware background had been basically determined. Due to the characteristics of the Sino-US cooperative education program, students need to complete a total of 500 hours of extracurricular practical activities before graduation. Therefore, this experience has become the core material of our application document software section. The student's GPA of 2.5 is a significant shortcoming in our application section. Therefore, in the application materials, we have tried to avoid describing academic performance and instead highlighted the characteristics of the Sino-US cooperative education program, optimizing the value and practicality of the FIU hotel management course in the United States.
When the student received the interview invitation from the Hong Kong Polytechnic, he had already been admitted to one of the Group of Eight universities in Australia. He was not very proactive in preparing for the interview at the Hong Kong Polytechnic and chose an Internet cafe with a not-so-good environment for the online interview. Unfortunately, the school's review process also fell into a passive situation after this interview. Immediately after, Macau University of Science and Technology sent an interview invitation. Considering the previous interview experience, we provided psychological counseling to the student in advance, guiding them to present themselves positively to the admissions officer representing the undergraduate school. After the interview, we further explained the issues that the student was not satisfied with during the interview process via email. Fortunately, Macau University of Science and Technology responded promptly, stating that it would comprehensively review and evaluate the student's application, and soon received the official admission notice from the school. It's possible that the student may not choose Macau University of Science and Technology, but we hope that students can seize every opportunity to showcase themselves whenever they encounter it!
The student has currently been admitted to the Group of Eight universities in Australia, including the University of Queensland, Monash University, the University of Western Australia, Durham University in the UK, Queen Mary College London, and Macau University of Science and Technology.
